A 6-person gondola lift in three stages carries you from Grindelwald to First at 2,168 m in comfort and without changes. At the Bodmi practice area, there are also two tow lifts in the ski resort and two-button lifts in the valley region. For novices, a moving carpet is supplied.

The Upper Grindelwald Glacier (German: Oberer Grindelwaldgletscher) is one of two valley glaciers at Grindelwald, in the Canton of Berne, on the northern side of the Bernese Alps (the other being the Lower Grindelwald Glacier). A large snowfield rises north of the Schreckhorn and south of the Wetterhorn to form the Upper Grindelwald Glacier. The glacier’s tongue is currently roughly 1,400 m (4,600 feet) above sea level, making it one of the Alps’ lowest glaciers.
