It’s ideally located, just a 1-hour drive away from Dushanbe which is the capital of Tajikistan and 75 minutes (58.2 km) away by car from Dushanbe International Airport.

This ski resort is found 60 km north of Dushanbe only a one hour drive away. The 4-star hotel here is at 2,400 m above sea level. The primary ski lift will take you to an altitude of 2,600 m and the T-bar ski lift will take you up to 3,000 m. Safed Dara is an excellent choice for families to visit as the slopes offer beginner and intermediate runs. The ski slopes are not crowded and you won’t encounter queues for the ski lifts.
Heavy snowfall especially in early February, ensure snowy slopes and will make the ideal half-term school holiday destination. Young children can learn to ski here and older kids can hone their ski and snowboarding skills. Is this the best ski resort in Tajikistan? As it’s the only one for now, yes it is. In saying that, it does offer excellent facilitates and amenities with plenty to do to keep the whole family happy. Its prices are exceptionally reasonable for foreign visitors and it’s the foreign tourists who spend their money at Safed Dara.
Safed Dara doesn’t really have a summer season at this moment in time. However, with the abundant natural beautiful surroundings, walkers and hikers would enjoy a break in Tajikistan, to simply take time out and breathe in the fresh mountain air.
The facilities and amenities of this ski resort of Safed Dara are superb, they include snowmobile, snow-tube, cable car, rental of ski and snowboard equipment, T-bar lifts, ice-rink, zip line, paintball, rope-park, and horse riding. There is a spa, cinema, three restaurants, billiard and games room, outdoor market and shops, plus conference rooms.
Tajikistan is bordered by China, Afghanistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan. It’s most popular for its rugged high altitude mountain ranges, where travellers can climb and hike in the summer months. Near to the capital of Dushanbe, are the wonderful snow-capped Fann Mountains which peak at over 5,000 m. The Nature Refuge of Iskanderkulsky is a habitat for birds and the delightful lake which is turquoise in colour was formed by glaciers.
