Kaprun ski area

Kitzsteinhorn Mountain
Kaprun provides two main ski areas connected by a cabin lift on the Kitzsteinhorn Mountain and the Maiskogel Mountain. First, you go up the Maiskogel from the centre of Kaprun and then continue, if you wish, to the Kitzsteinhorn. Usually, the Kitzsteinhorn glacier area in Kaprun opens halfway through October for skiing and snowboarding and typically closes at the end of June or mid-July. The glacier area provides several slopes that are easy to extremely difficult and ensures that you can ski or snowboard, even during a warm winter.
Maiskogel Mountain
The ski lifts on the Maiskogel are usually open from December to early April since they are not at glacier altitude.
