Ski property for sale in the Alps – who buys it?

It won’t be that long until the ski season is here and die hard skiers are getting excited about that already! In less than 3 months the high altitude slopes will be up and running and no doubt busy with eager skiers and snowboarders wanting their snow fix. If you ski every season you may be thinking of buying a ski property and why not? They make a super investment.

When we think of a property abroad we generally think of a beautiful villa, a place we can call home from home and if we can afford a luxury property we buy it. But how do we view ski property? Is it somewhere merely that is clean and functional, do we see it as a base? I guess that depends on the skier and what they are looking for. We are not only seeing families buying ski property for sale in the Alps we are seeing groups of friends investing too and it makes perfect sense for 4 friends to invest together. Apart from having wonderful holidays there themselves, they can rent the property out when not using it and earn lucrative rental returns.

What type of property would a group of friends buy? Possibly they will want somewhere close to ski lifts, functional, practical and close enough to enjoy the Après ski and other amenities. They could buy between them a 2 bedroom apartment from less than £117,000 each. This delightful apartment is in Combloux, with superb amenities including a pool and spa and offers amazing views of Mont Blanc and as a bonus Geneva Airport is only 1 hour away. The rental potential alone on this apartment will possibly pay for the owners flights and help towards the upkeep of the apartment.

However, there will be some skiers probably families who want more from a ski property and they will look at chalets for sale in the Alps. A wonderful 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms ski chalet in lovely Saint Gervais Les Bains is a new build with bespoke interiors, private parking and stunning views across the valley and just 1 hour from Geneva Airport, it can be yours from less than £757,000 which is a bargain. It is close to shops, bars and restaurants and the Saint Gervais Les Bains area is ideal for families as the ski terrain is suitable for beginners and intermediates. Once again the rental potential is superb.

Then we have those we prefer luxury property and aren’t they the lucky ones! Luxury ski property for sale in the Alps offers a tremendous lifestyle and if I bought a luxury chalet there I probably wouldn’t want to ever leave. These stunning chalets offer from 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms, communal heated indoor and outdoor pools, ski in, ski out location, underground parking, panoramic picturesque views and butler and concierge services. These exceptional and unique chalets are in Courchevel and other amenities include a bar and a wellness centre, a cinema and children’s play room which are all located underground in highly decorated areas. For all the above you can expect to pay a little over 5 million and worth every penny.

Last we come to the ski property investor, now this person will buy in the most popular ski locations in the Alps; he/she will buy apartments and chalets to cater for every budget of skier who want to rent them. Ski property is an excellent investment, yes you pay more for a property but the returns are well worth it.

Are you looking for a solid investment or your own ski property?
