More campaigns have been revealed by the UK’s most prominent ski holiday company. This is to convince skiers wanting to book a ski holiday this winter, their money is secure.
Any customer can now receive free COVID-19 cover to be used as part of their reservation alongside standard travel insurance. It includes the cost of COVID-19 testing abroad, if appropriate, repatriation if medically needed, as well as the costs of self-isolation associated with an extended stay and a new return flight home if customers are requested to self-isolate during the holiday season. This protection will be included for all customers flying between 12th December 2020 and 18th April 2021 and will extend to all new and existing bookings.
A travel company managing director recently said “We understand that people can feel apprehensive about travelling in these uncertain times, and we want to give our clients as much peace of mind as possible. We are only a few weeks out from the start of the season, and we are planning to work as scheduled at the moment. If our programme is affected by limitations, or consumers change their travel dates. In that case, our holiday promise offers flexible options and extra protection.”
More campaigns have been revealed by the UK’s most prominent ski holiday company to convince skiers and snowboarders prepared to book a ski holiday this winter that their money is safe. The latest cover is part of the broader insurance promise of the firm that aims to make it easy for customers to travel this ski season with peace of mind by offering:
Free Revisions
Up to 28 days before departure, clients can make free modifications on holidays to any destination. Those diagnosed with symptoms or asked to self-isolate can also change for free, as UK lockdowns can affect customers.
Refunds in cash
If for reasons related to COVID-19, a holiday needs to be postponed, consumers will receive a cash refund for the amount paid. Or they can change it for free for another holiday. If there are local overseas restrictions that affect your ability to get on the mountain, because of COVID-19, the ski area is closed, you can cancel your holiday for free.
Free of quarantine
If a destination becomes added to the quarantine list, travellers may change or cancel their holiday free of charge before flying.
FCDO guidance
If guidance changes before travel or during a customer’s holiday by the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO), they will be contacted. Customers may change or cancel for free if a destination is added to the ‘all but necessary travel’ list.
Informing clients
Customers will be contacted with updates on the new regulations in place at their resorts and they can receive 24/7 help when abroad.
Skiers and snowboarders have the reassurance of being ‘covid protected’ as they arrive on the slopes, and the current health and safety policies in place will not be something we are not all doing at home every day. Think of face masks, purchases without touch, and social distancing. Throughout summer, mountain resorts across Europe were open, and skiers were enjoying time on the glaciers. Resorts are organised for the season to welcome visitors, and now have a clear image of what holidaymakers should expect. There may be much less après ski, but the basics that make a ski holiday an unforgettable experience will stay the same: the snow, the crisp mountain air, and the sheer rush of adrenalin that skiers and snowboarders can’t get enough of.
Skiers and snowboarders deserve a holiday this year, follow the guidelines, and stay safe, most of all enjoy!
