Soaring heat awaits you in Dubai, so you would be forgiven into thinking that skiing in Dubai simply isn’t possible. Think again! Ok, there aren’t the conventional mountain slopes but they have excellent facilities available, at the indoor ski resorts.

Ski Dubai has an incredible 22,500 square metres of indoor ski area. It’s open year-round and has a constant temperature of -1 degree to 2 degrees Celsius. Ski Dubai is found in the Mall of the Emirates which happens to be one of the largest shopping centres in the world. This upmarket city offers fabulous beaches, wonderful weather, luxury shopping, nightlife and now, skiing in Dubai.

Ski Dubai is the first ski hall in the Middle East. This 85 m high ski resort is found on the Sheikh Zayed Road near to the famous Jumeirah Beach. Everything has been well thought out at this ski resort and we wouldn’t expect anything less in the wealthy city of Dubai. Ski chalets overlooking the ski hall and slopes are found in the 5-star Kempinski Hotel Mall of the Emirates.

Do you love penguins? If so, you will be delighted to learn that there is a colony of King and Gentoo Penguins within the ski resort. Visit the Snow Park to see these gorgeous creatures playing together. Of course, Dubai is probably most known for its luxury shopping and bustling nightlife. The iconic Burj Khalifa is an 830 m tower that dominates the skyline. The Palm Resort is another well-known landmark where the wealthy can afford to live.

This modern city is awash with skyscrapers and large shopping malls filled to the brim with designer shops and brand name stores. However, its southern region landscape is vast deserts, don’t be mistaken into thinking nothing happens in the desert, it does and you can enjoy a range of exciting activities. Thrill-seekers can partake in sand dune drives of the Arabian Desert on quad bikes. Not exactly for the faint-hearted but if you are looking for an adventure, this is it. If you prefer, you can be driven over the dunes by an expert driver in a 4×4, simply sit back and enjoy the adrenalin rush.

Maybe a day at Dubai Museum is more your taste, it’s located in Dubai’s Al Fahidi Fort. This fort was built in the 18th century and has been completely restored to its former glory. Inside the fort are photos, exhibits, and dioramas of Dubai and its cultural history. A must visit is the Bait Al Banat (Women’s Museum) which tells the story of women’s life including female artists in the United Arab Emirates and how they helped to shape the nation it is today. Avid coffee drinkers can visit the Coffee Museum, which depicts the history of coffee over timelines. There are demonstrations of roasting and brewing and the highlight of the day is tasting delicious hot coffee.
