Pas de la Casa

Overview

Andorra's liveliest nightlife can be found in Pas de la Casa, on the edge of the French and Andorran border. Cheap drinks in this tax-free haven draws the Brits annually in their droves. Part of the Grandvalira ski area, Pas de la Casa offers surprisingly good skiing considering its price tag. The ski resort is popular choice for groups and families for their exciting skiing holidays.

Skiing in Pas de la Casa

With 100km of local pistes, Pas de la Casa has the largest skiing area out of the 193km Grandvalira ski area. This makes the area comparable to big names such as Kitzbuhel and Les Deux Alpes. The treeless local slopes link over the pass to the varied terrain of Grau Roig and the more sheltered ski resort Soldeu. The area has seen €112 million of fresh investment into a state-of the art speedy lift system of chairs, gondolas and cable cars.

Beginners will get to grips on the excellent ‘Piso,’ ‘Pessons,’ and ‘Abelletes’ green slopes. Intermediates on their skiing holiday will find ample rip-roaring blues and reds to sweep down, Eclipse Ski’s hot tip is to try the scenic ‘Pic Negre D’Envalira’ for breathtaking views, at the highest point of Andorra at 2,822m. Advanced skiers can test their skills (and nerves!) on off-piste runs ‘Llebre’ and ‘Avet’ on the Grandvalira ski area.
